Pato, the centre of Mfantsipim’s campus life,is where boys from all corners of the school gather daily to grab a bite and catch up on the latest buzz. But as our numbers grow, it’s become clear that pato lacks the basic infrastructure to comfortably serve everyone. The space gets crowded, seating is limited, and the overall look no longer matches the vibrant spirit of the students who fill it. That’s why the SRC has stepped in. As part of our commitment to student comfort, we’ve taken on the task of providing new benches for the pato; one seat at a time to build a better experience for all who pass through "Kwaw's Hill"

Larger dumpsters to control waste produced by the large population

Still on the matter of pato as it is the social and culinary hub of Mfantsipim, the scene right after break and after class hours tells a different story. With thousands of students passing through daily, waste piles up quickly, and unfortunately, this space begins to lose its charm.

Being at the very heart of our school, this shouldn’t be the case. Past SRC boards, including our own 2024/2025 team, have made efforts to tackle the sanitation challenge, but the solutions have not been sustainable. That’s why we’re taking a new approach....a practical and effective way we’ve identified is to introduce large-capacity dumpsters, which are strong enough to handle a full day’s waste without spilling over or creating an eyesore. It’s a simple fix with a big impact, and we’re committed to making it happen
